Why not treat yourself, or a loved one, to a gin making workshop at Black Cat Distillery’s Gin School where you will create your own bespoke 70cl bottle of gin. Let us introduce you to the distilling process, the history behind gin, and the bewitching story behind the Black Cat name. Of course, you’ll have a gin and tonic in your hand to enjoy throughout. Next, we’ll get you designing your perfect gin. We’ll introduce you to a wide variety of botanicals, helping you to create a beautifully balanced recipe with interesting flavour profiles. Learn about the weighing out of botanicals and then get your hands on your individual copper pot still.
As the still is producing your lovely craft gin, we will have another gin and tonic (or two!) and enjoy a Cumbrian charcuterie and cheese board. By the time we’ve finished eating your gin will be ready to bottle and take home, unless you want to share a taste and a tipple of yours with us first!
Gin distilleries often offer gin tours and gin tasting experiences, but not many let you get your hands on the ingredients and make your own gin. Learning how to make gin will give you unique insight into the process behind crafting this perpetually popular spirit and hopefully a newfound appreciation for the attention and care that goes into creating every bottle.
